Z1437 Colonel William Dalton Mann's Patented Infantry Waist Belt Plate (December 8, 1863)
Description: Here is an excellent buckle that is difficult to find. These show up in late war sites and saw limited use. This group includes the buckle and one chape. Two identical chapes would have been affixed to the belt rig in a vertical position. The top "D" ring was used to attach the Mann's patented Infantry cartridge box. The bottom "D" ring was used to attach the lower knapsack straps. The chapes are considerably longer and were riveted to the waist belt in the center. The chape measures approximately 89mm x 33mm.
Measures: 34mm x 54mm
