Z335     Late 19th Century Lantern Slide Dead Confederate Artilleryman

Description: Description: Nice glass plate image of a dead artilleryman killed at Fort Mahone in 1865. This glass plate was produced from the original by T. H. McAllister. These plates were used to produce images on a wall by holding light behind them. They were entertainment of the late 1800's. The actual picture is very crisp but the camera can't quite capture it as it is in the middle of the glass plates. The top plate has a small crack on the edge area but isn't on the image piece.
