Z1095     Solid Cast Confederate Infantry "I" Button (White Metal)

Description: Nice excavated Confederate Infantry button. This is the white metal version and was excavated during on of the DIV's on the Brandy Rock Farm. This one has a pleasing patina. The shank is broken but a portion of it remains!

Z1091     Eagle Artillery "A" Cuff Button

Description: Nice dug cuff button with an excellent patina. This one has the standup shank intact and is very nice. No pushes, cracks, dents, etc.

Z1090     Silvered South Carolina State Seal Cuff Button

Description: Here is a very nice excavated South Carolina cuff button. This one has better detail than what the photos show. There is still some silver gilt in some places. The back and standup shank are intact. The shank is slightly bent and there are no pushes, cracks, or repairs.

Z977     Federal Eagle Infantry "I" Button

Description: Here is an absolutely outstanding excavated button. This one has gold wrapping around to the back and the back still has quite a bit of silver plating as well. You don't dig them like this anymore! This one was dug out of a yard near Frederick, Maryland many years ago.

Z974     Solid Cast Confederate General Service Button

Description: Here is a very nice solid cast CSA coat button. This one has a pleasing patina and the letters stand out. The shank is intact but is just slightly bent. This was recovered years ago near the junction of 26 and Monocacy Blvd. near Frederick, Md. This area housed a large camp of Federal soldiers coming back from Gettysburg in 1863. Very few Confederate relics were recovered from the area. This piece may have been a souvenir carried home from the battle.

Description: Very nicely gilted non dug infantry button. This one has a little verdigris on the front but the stand up shank is intact.

Z700     Confederate Block "A" Artillery Button

Description: Here is a very nice excavated Confederate Artillery button. This one has a very nice face with no cracks or dents present. The back of this button has been professionally repaired and there is a shank present. This is fairly common for these tin back "A" buttons.

Z638     1812 Era Cast Infantry Button (Foliate Design w Star)

Description: Here is a very nice foliate design infantry button. This one has the star that is pointing downward in the oval on the base. This one was professionally reshanked many years ago with a silver shank.

Z504     Virginia Military Institute Coat Button (VMI)

Description: These buttons are slightly transitional/post war. They don't show up on period uniforms and they don't show up with other excavated buttons of the same style. This is the pattern where the spear touches the bottom of the "D" in CADET. The back and shank are slightly pushed on this example.

Z169     Federal Navy Button (Horizontal Anchor)

Description: Here is a very nice little excavated Navy button. This one has plenty of gilt highlighting the details on the face. The back still has some gilt as well and it highlights the backmark superbly. The stand up shank is intact and there is not a single push on the face. This button came out of a collection of relics from the Wilmington area.

Description: Here is a very nice Vermont cuff button. This one still has plenty of gilt left on the face and the stand up shank is intact. This button is published in the NSTCW Magazine Vol. 34 No. 4/2009 on page. 14.

Description: Nice excavated navy vest button. This one still has plenty of gilt left on the front. There is one very very slight push towards the bottom of the face. The stand up shank is intact and slightly bent.
